Are you interested in spreading your love of painting to others?
Would you like to teach your passion for painting while earning an income?
You can now, by becoming a Wilson Bickford Trained Teacher!
The first WBTT Seminar will be held in Watertown, NY
on April 7th – 11th , 2014
Wilson Bickford Trained Teacher Seminar ( WBTT )
We have scheduled the first WBTT Seminar for April 7th – 11th , 2014. This program will provide “hands-on” training with me personally and will focus on how to become a “painting teacher”.
This will be a 5-day event ( Mon. – Fri. ) and will be held in Watertown, NY. The course will be completed in that week.
While I know that many other organizations now regularly conduct their certifications on-line, I prefer to host mine old school, as I feel that personal interaction for this is absolutely imperative.
This program is designed for artists who wish to teach and conduct their own painting classes.
It will not solely be a “how to” painting course, although we will be doing plenty of painting during our time together.
You will need to be capable of completing some basic oil landscape paintings within a reasonable time-frame ( For example; a sunset scene, a waterfall, a snow scene, perhaps a floral? – These are only suggestions, not specific requirements, but you will need to be able to execute 3 – 4 paintings of your own choice without my instruction. These paintings can be ones copied from any of my YouTube tutorials, book, packets and/or DVD’s . Or, they can be something of your own design and composition. )
Obviously, as a prospective instructor you will need to be able to complete paintings on your own before you can teach them to others.
You will need to know how to paint the basics already. The seminar is to develop your abilities as a “teacher”.
As a WBTT, your personality, professionalism and conduct are as ( or more ) important than your painting skills. ( It takes somewhat of a “people person”. If you don’t like meeting new people and working with the public, this probably isn’t for you. )
You don’t need to be the world’s best artist, but we are looking for enthusiastic, encouraging teachers who can share their talents with others!
The WBTT program is different from my WBPP ( Painting Partner) arrangement . That option is available to those individuals who are already “certified” and holding classes, but wish to receive a discount on my WB Products and use my project designs in their own classes.
The WBTT Program is for those who wish to start conducting their own classes. Once you become a WBTT, you will receive a 25% discount on all WB Signature Products (on-line only) through Jerry’s Artarama. (current “Painting Partners” receive 20%) This discount is eligible for “sale prices” and the lowest posted prices at any given time, so it can be an even more substantial savings when you purchase during sale periods.
“Painting Partners” can also attend the WBTT seminar to upgrade to the next level and receive the larger discount. Their previously paid $100 fee will be applied to the cost of the WBTT Seminar.
I can tell you that there is a huge demand for painting instruction and there is no sign of it slowing down. In this fast-paced, hectic world EVERYONE needs a creative outlet and for a great many of us painting fills that need. You will literally change people’s lives and form life-long friendships using art as a common passion. It’s a win-win for both teacher and student.
And it is a great source of extra income for doing something you love.
Painting and teaching art has certainly enriched my life immeasurably and I’m blessed and pleased to be able to start you on that same path.
The WBTT Seminar will be $800 for the course. That will include all of the training and the painting supplies used during the week. We have acquired a $79 per night rate at a great hotel, which includes breakfast each morning. There are many nearby eateries for lunch and dinner, as well as the hotel restaurant. Glenda and I are picking up the tab for the Friday night dinner celebration. If you fly into Syracuse, NY it's less than an hour's drive straight up Interstate 81 to the hotel. We’ve tried to make it as convenient as possible.
The seminar will be held at The Ramada Inn, 21000 NYS Route 3, Watertown, NY, 13601 ( it is located immediately off Exit 45 from US Interstate 81 ) www.ramadawatertown.com Mention the “Wilson Bickford Seminar” when calling in your reservation to receive your discounted room rate. (315) 788-0700
Enrollment is limited and will be on a first-come, first-serve basis. Though some of you may be local and commute each day, the hotel requires a minimum of 10 room reservations to guarantee the event.
I have started an online newsletter to share upcoming events, painting techniques & tips, and other art related issues. To subscribe please fill out your information below.

I want to thank you so much for being such a wonderful teacher. I always wanted to paint but never thought I would live long enough to learn the skill. Plus I know that I don't have the required talent.
After seeing your youtube video I know that I can paint pictures that I will enjoy looking at.
You have no idea how much that means to me, and many others I'm sure. I thank you for me and for them. God has given you a gift, "to paint" but he has also given you the GRACE to show others how to enjoy painting.
PS: I will be driving up for lessons!!!
Wilson is very helpful to his students. He makes sure they go home with a painting they can be proud of. Jean, Abany, NY
I have taken many painting classes and Wilson is by far the best teacher I've had. He always makes everyone feel like they can paint and they have talent. You walk away with a beautiful painting everytime. He's very patient and encouraging. His paintings are wonderful and I truly enjoy his classes. Janet, Queensbury, NY
By age 56, the only experience I had with a paint brush was a result of my wife's insistence and usually also involved a roller. I received a birthday gift of paints and a seat in Wilson's upcoming class from aforementioned wife and attended it, certain that the painting would closely resemble my bedroom wall. I entered the class with assorted paints, brushes and a blank canvas emerging four hours later with an amazingly beautiful painting which hangs in our living room to this day. 2 years and seven paintings later, I would tell anyone, anyone, that Willie Bickford is a terrific artist, but even more important to those of us with zero talent, he is an incredible instructor. So, step out of the box and give him a shot-you will be shocked at the art you can create! Dave, Albany, NY
